Eleven local artists from each region in 2009 brought the celebration of gospel music to life through amazing paintings that was displayed at each venue during the tour.
Verizon's How Sweet the Sound™ 2009 was an unbelievable success with choirs from across the country participating in this extraordinary celebration of church music. Eleven choirs from around the country came together for a remarkable finale in Detroit, winning cash and prizes for their respective churches totaling over $50,000. Atlanta West Pentecostal Church choir took the title of Best Church Choir in America for 2009, receiving $45,000 in cash and prizes, and the chance to appear with Donald Lawrence at the 2010 Stellar Awards. Congratulations to all the 2009 performing choirs!
