As a Stellar and Dove awards nominee, Lisa McClendon has become known for her soulful music and cutting edge, heart penetrating lyrics.
With the new record, “Reality” already being dubbed as Lisa McClendon’s best work to date, she is moving forward with a new look, new self-owned label, momentum and vision. “I want to be able to look back ten years from now and see the music I did ten years prior still affecting people.”
McClendon is no stranger to hard work and is committed to empowering communities by helping inform them of today’s health dangers. Inspired by God to make a difference, she started a non-profit organization S.I.I.N.G. (Saving Individuals In Need through Giving) in 2006. SIING is an organization designed to give back to the community.
In the first year of starting this organization, she raised money through auctioning artists’ wardrobes and giving the proceeds to "My Sister's Keepers," a young ladies outreach started by CeCe Winans. In 2008, McClendon and SIING partnered with Fruit Loop and Team Savior to feed families for Thanksgiving and Christmas. The SIING dinner also included a free concert from McClendon.
McClendon is not just known for her blessed sound and flavor, but she is also known for her beauty which has been featured in and on the cover of magazines such as “Braids and Beauty,” “Hype and Hair,” “Ebony,” and “Christianity Today.”
Lisa has recently joined together in holy matrimony to her sweetheart Maurice Brailsford and McClendon is the proud mother of ten beautiful children.
